The Moray
Ceilidh Club is based in the county of Moray, Scotland and is a non-profit
making group run by volunteers to organise dance evenings for our members. Membership is open to anyone on payment of an
annual fee. This fee, together with
money raised from ticket sales and raffles is used to bring some of the best
quality bands in Scotland to perform in Moray.
Subject to
ticket availability, non-members are welcomed at all events.
We're a fairly
informal group, preferring to dance in casual clothing instead of the
traditional tartan and kilt wear. Our
dance evenings are great social occasions and although our main aim is dancing,
there's always time for a chat and some fun.
It doesn’t
matter whether or not you know any of the steps as most of the dances are
called. Also beginners, and forgetful
non-beginners(!?!), are helped along.
You might find Ian Brockbank's ceilidh dance instructions from his Grand
Chain Scottish Dance resource pages useful.
We have a
thriving membership and welcome new members whether they have experience or are
new to ceilidh dancing. And it's a great
way to keep fit! We organise six or seven ceilidhs a year and joining couldn't
be easier - just click on Tickets & Membership on the menu above.
